Animals Love Heartland Animal Hospital

We moved to Ashland late in 2000 and began using Heartland Animal Hospital in the spring of 2001. Dr. Cuddihee and her staff took the records of our pets from previous veterinarian’s office and used those to start providing treatment to our pets and building their own records. Fifteen years later, we are still sold on the services our pets receive. Dr. Cuddihee and her staff have celebrated our new pets with us and have been caring and empathetic when we’ve had to say goodbye to some very old friends. While it is difficult to talk about euthanasia of very special animal family members, it is important to me to say that the staff at Heartland have kept some of our pets happy and healthy longer than the breed books say they should live. They have been kind, respectful and caring of both of both the pet and us when the time has come to humanely euthanize the animal. Our dogs look forward to going to the vet’s office in Ashland (and know where the treats are). Our cats are tolerant of trips to the vet and rarely get their claws out (a four star review from a cat, believe me). Finally, I would like to make two points. Dr. Cuddihee will give you every option and scenario for treatment available (and the cost associated with it) but she allows you to make the decision of how to proceed. Second, I recently discovered the price of specialized dog food is less at her office than it is at the farm store in Columbia. So if you want great care and service, and reasonably priced pet products, go to Heartland.

I have been a patron of Heartland Animal Hospital for over 3 years. My black lab, Emmett, is fearless and accident prone. Thus, I am quite fortunate to have Dr. Cuddihee and staff a phone call away. Whether he needs a patch-up from a woodland romp or perhaps a stomach remedy for eating something he shouldn't have... I can always trust they'll have him back in good health in no time. When I have to travel for work, the boarding process is quick and easy, and his accommodations are always clean and comfortable. When I pick him up, I can often tell he has been happily playing outside in the courtyard. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment to any pet owner who is looking for affordable and quality animal care.

Emmett is always excited to come see his friends here. All I have to say is "Let's go to Heartland" and he will race to the truck.

Dr. Cuddihee’s clinic offers a small, home town atmosphere with the benefits of a large town clinic. Our family has been blessed to have Dr. Cuddihee and her staff as our pets’ veterinarian for sixteen years, and her compassion and empathy is unsurpassed. We have had to make the painful decision to help two of our beloved pets move on and Dr. Cuddihee was with us every step of our painful journey. We have two geriatric dogs with one needing long term care. Dr. Cuddihee is knowledgeable and proactive in helping assure that our pets have a wonderful quality of live.

We are so fortunate to have Dr. Patti Cuddihee for our cats’ doctor. For 18 years, she seems to always know exactly what to do for our cats. We just wish we had a doctor for us humans that was as intuitive about our needs as Dr. Cuddihee is about our cats’ needs. She knows them all by name and loves them.

This year we had to have our most beloved cat euthanized. Dr. Cuddihee came to the house and, afterwards, hugged me and cried with me.

Usually, our stories are good ones. Recently, an 18 year old cat that is slowing down and has health issues had to have his teeth cleaned and extracted. He also had an ulcer in his mouth that Dr. Cuddihee had to treat. Unlike usual, he came home the same day ready to eat and cuddle and, by evening, go for a walk outdoors, with us.

The young ladies at the clinic are always so friendly and helpful, as well. Thanks, Dr. Cuddihee, for taking such good care of our beloved furry family.

Dr. Patti Cuddihee and her staff are great and caring people. They care for animals like they were their own. She takes the time to explain everything to you so you can understand it better, too. She is always there if you have an emergency, day or night, and will call you back.

Heartland Animal Hospital is warm and inviting veterinary hospital in Southern Boone County for you and your pet!  Dr. Cuddihee and her Vet Tech staff are compassionate, caring, knowledgeable and professional with the care of our pets' needs.  We've been using Heartland for all our pets needs for the last 17 years, 3 dogs and 4 cats.  Her staff was able to help us deal with the special needs, such as bone cancer, tail docking - due to an injury, and upper respiratory problems.
